Season series: The Nashville Predators defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-3 in a shootout on Oct. 21. Former Coyotes center Mike Riberio had a goal and assist for the Predators. Nashville defenseman Ryan Ellis had a goal, two assists and the game-winner in the shootout.

Predators team scope: Center Paul Gaustad (lower body) is day-to-day. He missed two games, attempted to return in a 3-0 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday but played 48 seconds. Left wing Taylor Beck (concussion) is out. Derek Roy (upper body) has missed five straight games but centered the fourth line at practice Wednesday, according to the Tennessean. Ribeiro has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past five games. Nashville is 6-2-0 in its past eight games, 14-4-2 against the Western Conference and 6-1-1 against the Pacific Division but 7-5-1 on the road. Right wing James Neal snapped a streak of nine games without a goal Tuesday in Colorado with an empty-net goal.

Coyotes team scope: Arizona coach Dave Tippett told the Arizona Republic he expects forward David Moss to play for the first time since Oct. 23, when he sustained an injury by blocking a shot with his hand. Defenseman Brandon Gormley, who has missed the past 10 games with a lower-body injury, remains out. Arizona has been outscored 14-4 during a three-game losing streak and has won once in its past seven (1-5-1). The Coyotes are 0-2-0 on their five-game homestand, 4-7-2 at home and winless against the Central Division (0-5-2). Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson has two goals in his past four games. Left wing Mikkel Boedker has two goals and one assist in his past four games.
