GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Ryan Garbutt went end-to-end and scored a shorthanded goal with 1:16 left to help the Dallas Stars snap their seven-game losing streak with a 4-3 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday.

Tyler Seguin wiped out a 2-0 Arizona lead with goals 57 seconds apart late in the second period.

Erik Cole gave the Stars their first lead of the game at 3-2 with 4:41 left, burying a Colton Sceviour feed past Arizona goalie Mike Smith. But Mikkel Boedker answered for Arizona 58 seconds later, finishing Antoine Vermette's deflection of a Michael Stone shot to get the Coyotes even.

Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen made 33 saves, and the Stars killed all six Coyotes power plays to win for the first time since Oct. 24. They had been 0-5-2 since.

Smith made 28 saves for the Coyotes, who lost another game late after they allowed a goal in the final minutes of a 1-0 loss against the New York Islanders on Saturday.

Defenseman Connor Murphy scored early in the first period and had assist for Arizona, and Joe Vitale scored his first goal with the Coyotes in the second period.

But Seguin and the Stars roared back to avoid the longest losing streak (eight games) since the franchise moved from Minnesota to Dallas before the 1993-94 season.

The Coyotes had 19 shots in their shutout loss to the Islanders. They had 17 in the first period against the Stars and scored on the first one.

Murphy found the far top corner over Lethonen's shoulder with a hard wrist shot from the point at 1:42 of the first for his second goal of the season.

Arizona put 12 more shots on Lehtonen in the game's first 10 minutes.

Dallas coach Lindy Ruff ran some leadership drills during practice Monday and wasn't pleased with the way his top players reacted. He probably wasn't happy with Dallas' effort in the first period Tuesday, either; the Stars managed six shots and had little jump.

The Coyotes pushed the lead to 2-0 midway through the second thanks to their fourth line. Kyle Chipchura pushed a pass up to Vitale on a 2-on-1 with B.J. Crombeen, and Vitale clanged a high shot off the near post and crossbar before it found the net at 11:06. It was Vitale's first goal in 41 games dating back to Nov. 30, 2013, when he scored for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Florida Panthers.

Seguin put the Stars on the board nearly seven minutes later. He scrambled the Arizona defense with a wraparound bid and was all alone at the post to score off the rebound of a Jordie Benn shot from the point at 17:59.

Then with Murphy in the penalty box for interference, Jason Spezza's pass to the slot missed Jamie Benn but found Seguin in the left circle. Seguin beat Smith from almost the same spot as his first goal at 18:56 to tie the game 2-2.
