DETROIT -- Mark Arcobello's second goal of the game, with 1:52 left in overtime, gave the Arizona Coyotes a 5-4 win against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena.

The victory ended Arizona's eight-game losing streak (0-7-1).

Arcobello had an assist, Detroit-area native David Moss had two goals, and John Moore also scored for the Coyotes (22-44-8). Goalie Mike Smith made 33 saves.

Jakub Kindl and Justin Abdelkader had a goal and an assist each, and Luke Glendening and Gustav Nyquist also scored for Detroit (39-21-12). Henrik Zetterberg had two assists, and Jimmy Howard made 17 saves

The Red Wings are five points ahead of the Ottawa Senators for third place in the Atlantic Division.

Detroit was without center Pavel Datsyuk because of a lower-body injury for the fourth consecutive game.

Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall was a late scratch because of a lower-body injury, and forward Erik Cole left the game because of an upper-body injury after the first period.

Arcobello scored the game-winner, his 15th goal, on a breakaway as he fended off Detroit defenseman Marek Zidlicky.

Nyquist's power-play goal tied it at 4-4 with 6:21 left in the third period. He batted a rebound out of the air for his 23rd goal.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson's shot deflected in off Moss, who was setting a screen in front of Howard with Arizona on the man-advantage, to give the Coyotes a 4-3 lead 9:19 into the third. It was Moss' third goal.

Kindl tied the game 3-3 at 1:57 of the third period. He got his fifth goal on a slap shot from the point in the middle of the ice.

Detroit killed off a two minute 5-on-3 in the middle of a four-minute 5-on-4 shorthanded situation early in the third period.

The Coyotes led 3-2 after the second period despite being outshot 26-13.

Moss broke a 2-2 tie with 4:52 left in the second when he tipped in Klas Dahlbeck's shot from the point off a faceoff.

Abdelkader tied it at 2-2 with his 21st goal at 11:32 of the second. He scored on a breakaway after taking a head-man pass from Kindl, who replaced Kronwall in the lineup.

Abdelkader has eight goals in his past 12 games.

That came 36 seconds after Arcobello scored a power-play goal from the right circle.

Glendening put the Red Wings on the board three minutes into the second period. Kyle Quincey's shot deflected in off the shaft of Glendening's stick. It was his 10th goal.

Moore opened the scoring with 8:17 left in the first period when Craig Cunningham's shot from the left circle deflected in off of him. Moore's second goal of the season came seconds after Smith stopped Cole's tip attempt off of a Zetterberg pass.

The Red Wings had a 13-5 edge in shots in the first period.
