Season series: Shane Doan scored the game-tying goal in the Arizona Coyotes' 3-2 shootout win against the Anaheim Ducks on Nov. 7 and scored the shootout-winner on his first attempt of the season on Dec. 27. Patrick Maroon scored the game-winner for the Ducks on Nov. 23.

Ducks team scope: Anaheim made two additions to their blue line Monday at the trade deadline, acquiring Simon Despres from the Pittsburgh Penguins and bringing back James Wisniewski, who previously played 86 games for Anaheim from 2008-10, from the Columbus Blue Jackets. "Our power play has struggled mightily for two years now," general manager Bob Murray told reporters on Monday. "[Wisniewski] is not afraid to shoot the puck. That is a good thing." The Ducks, currently in first place in the Pacific Division, have won five of their past six games.

Coyotes team scope: Arizona, which has the second-fewest points in the Western Conference, traded three players since Saturday. Antoine Vermette was sent to the Chicago Blackhawks, Zbynek Michalek to the St. Louis Blues and Keith Yandle to the New York Rangers. Defenseman Klas Dahlbeck, whom Arizona acquired for Vermette, and John Moore, who was acquired in the Yandle deal, made it to Glendale to practice on Monday. Arizona plays nine of its next 10 games at Gila River Arena.
