Arizona Coyotes prospect Anthony Duclair joined NHL Live to discuss the trade that sent him from the New York Rangers to the Coyotes before the NHL Trade Deadline.

Arizona acquired Duclair with defenseman John Moore and two draft picks for defensemen Keith Yandle and Chris Summers and a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Duclair was informed of the trade by his junior coach after the second period of a game with the Quebec Ramparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

"I was really surprised," Duclair said. "I was more shocked than anything. I guess hockey is a business and it's time to move on from New York.

"I had a talk with [Coyotes general manager] Don Maloney right after the trade and he's really excited to have me. For myself I think it's good for my future."

Duclair, 19, had a goal and seven points in 18 games with the Rangers this season before he was loaned to Canada's junior national team. The native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, has nine goals and 25 points in 20 games with the Ramparts. The 80th pick in the 2013 draft also starred at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship with four goals and eight points in seven games to help Canada win a gold medal.

During the tournament, Duclair showed great chemistry playing on a line with future Coyotes teammate Max Domi.

"We have a pretty good bond off the ice and we're pretty good friends," Duclair said of Domi. "On the ice it went back to summer camp, where we played a little bit together, and it sort of clicked."

Duclair scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 27, 2014, one of five third-period goals for the Rangers when they rallied to a 5-4 win against the Minnesota Wild at Madison Square Garden.

"That was unbelievable," Duclair said. "It's obviously a goal I'm going to remember for the rest of my life."
