Season series: The Arizona Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets each have won one game. Chris Thorburn scored shorthanded in the third period to help Winnipeg to a 3-2 win at MTS Centre on Nov. 21. Shane Doan had two goals in a 4-2 Arizona win at Gila River Arena on Dec. 31.

Coyotes team scope: Coach Dave Tippett did not say if goaltender Louis Domingue will start after playing in a 2-1 shootout win against the Minnesota Wild on Monday, according to Fox Sports Arizona. Domingue, who made 34 saves Monday, has started 11 of the past 12 games. Backup Anders Lindback has started once since Dec. 29 when he allowed three goals on five shots and was pulled after the first period in a 7-5 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks. Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann did not play Monday because of illness and his status is unknown, according to the Arizona Republic. Forward Christian Thomas, who was recalled from Springfield of the American Hockey League on Sunday, could make his Arizona debut. He has 10 goals and 11 assists in 33 AHL games.

Jets team scope: Center Mark Scheifele (lower body) is expected to return after missing seven games, according to the Jets website. Forward Mathieu Perreault will not play because of a lower-body injury but is not expected to miss significant time. "His tests turned out to be fairly positive," coach Paul Maurice said. Center Bryan Little left practice early Monday. "If he loosens up he's fine for tomorrow," Maurice said. "If not, we'll see." If Little is unable to play, Patrice Cormier likely would replace him. Forward Adam Lowry (upper body) will miss his fifth consecutive game. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is expected to start for the 19th time in the past 21 games. Winnipeg has started a six-game homestand with three consecutive losses (0-3-0) and has scored four goals in its past four games.
