Season series: The Arizona Coyotes have won two of three against the Los Angeles Kings this season, with the road team victorious each time. Defenseman Oliver-Ekman Larsson (three goals, one assist) and forward Martin Hanzal (two goals, two assists) lead the Coyotes in scoring. Forward Tyler Toffoli (two goals, one assist) and defenseman Drew Doughty (one goal, two assists) lead the Kings.

Kings team scope: Los Angeles held an off-ice workout Friday before traveling to Arizona. The Kings play a weekend road set against the Coyotes on Saturday and the San Jose Sharks on Sunday looking to rebound from a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Thursday. "We've got to turn the page quick and we've got two huge division games coming up this weekend," defenseman Luke Schenn told LAKingsInsider.com. Los Angeles had scored 13 goals in its previous four games, winning three (3-1-0). Forward Vincent Lecavalier, acquired with Schenn from the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 6, had a streak of three straight games with a power-play goal come to an end against Minnesota.

Coyotes team scope: Arizona had full attendance at practice Friday as it prepares for the finale of a seven-game homestand. The Coyotes won the first two games but are 0-3-1 since to slip to fourth place in the Pacific Division, two points behind the third-place Vancouver Canucks for a guaranteed spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They're also two points behind the Colorado Avalanche for the second wild card from the Western Conference, with Colorado hosting the St. Louis Blues on Friday. "We got to find ways to be better offensively," captain Shane Doan told the Arizona Republic after a 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. The Coyotes, who had the League's third-worst penalty kill at 76.1 percent entering games Friday, will face a test from a Kings power play ranked sixth in the League at 21.4 percent.
